Shockingly a local newspaper reports that Telford has the most hazardous pavements in the West Midlands. The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) states that treacherous pavements are potentially a deadly menace, especially during the recent cold snap, and is urging Local Authorities to repair broken and uneven pavements.

Many of the victims are older people whose lives can suffer immeasurably by having their confidence and quality of life wrecked by these falls. The CSP urges Councils to invest more money in keeping public walkways safe. Falls are a leading cause of death for over-75s and at the very least, just one fall can shatter an older person's physical and mental well-being.
