Lanyon Bowdler has as elected Peter Flint as the firm’s Senior Partner.
Peter will be responsible for driving the profile of the firm forward, acting as a public ambassador for the firm and representing the firm in the Shropshire community.
Peter joined the firm in 1968, when the firm had 5 partners and 25 staff. He chose to specialise in Family law in 1976, and in the past 30 years has helped thousands of individuals through the painful challenges of divorce and other family issues.
Peter Flint has recently been appointed as Senior Partner in the firm. He is a member of Resolution, the Law Society’s Family Law Panel, he is a qualified mediator for SALM and has recently become fully qualified to practice in Collaborative Law (only three solicitors hold this status in Shropshire).
Commenting on the changes Peter has witnessed over the past 30 years, Peter comments, "There will always be divorce, but recently there has been a move towards a less adversarial approach to divorce, with a view to achieving out of court settlements. The laws pertaining to Civil Partnerships, same sex marriages and the increase in co-habitation, demonstrate how the law will continue to evolve to reflect the needs of the ever-changing society it protects."
