Local Businesses Affected by Gas Explosion
The gas explosion which rocked the centre of Shrewsbury on Sunday 3 January, will potentially have lasting repercussions for businesses in the area.
The blast and the road closures which followed may have made it impossible to open your premises up, or made it difficult for staff to get in to work. You may have found that your telephone or internet access has been affected. Have you lost income? Are you able to claim your losses from anyone? Do you have business interruption insurance you can claim on?
Are there any issues with your staff because they were not able to come in to work?
Business premises may need repairing, but who is responsible for doing so, the landlord or the tenant? Will the work be covered by insurance?
Have the problems led to you not being able to fulfil contracts with your customers? Are you liable to pay them compensation?
If your cashflow will be affected, is there anything you can do to improve it? On top of all the other pressures on businesses, does this mean that you might not be able to carry on trading?
In order to try and assist we are offering free initial telephone consultations for any business affected by the blast and who may be wondering what to do next. If you would like to speak with a legal expert about any of the problems above, or any other legal issues arising out of the way in which your business has been affected, give Amanda Jones a call on 07872 679977.
