Shropshire Motocrosser has eyes set on success

Shropshire Motorcrosser Danny Blair is hoping that all his training pays off at the forthcoming Wulfsport British Masters Motocross Championship being held at Hawkstone Park on the 16th and 17th June 2007. Danny, who is a member of the Warsley Wasps, will be riding his Kawasaki 85 cc and has his eyes firmly set on success.

Despite his age twelve year-old Danny, who lives in Wellington, is no novice when it comes to competing in motorcross championships. Last season he qualified as the highest finalist for the BSMA (British Schoolboy Motocross Association) within his club and finished in 6th place overall.

Danny started riding when he was seven and began racing at the young age of eight with Warley Wasps, one of the West Midlands BSMA (British Schoolboy Motocross Association) . Last season on his Kawasaki 65 cc he won the Summer Series for the club championships. Danny then moved up onto a Kawasaki 85 cc in October and came first in the Winter Series!

Despite his tender age to compete at the highest level Danny shows the commitment of more senior competitors, he practices virtually every weekend and travels all over the UK. To keep in optimum shape he trains in the gym three times a week doing cardio vascular training and swims once a week to help keep fit. He has also had advice from a dietarian and follows a strict food programme.

Danny is sponsored by Lanyon Bowdler Solicitors which has contributed towards the cost of paying for his Motox Academy training. Danny says; "I really enjoy the thrill of competing and am counting the days down until my next race. I would however like to offer my thanks to both Lanyon Bowdler Solicitors who kindly sponsor me and Ricki Priest of MX Coach Academy who has trained me to the standard that I am at now."

As well as competing at Hawkstone Park in June Danny is also looking forward to competing in the British Masters Nationals this year and the Weston Beach Race in October.
