Medical / Clinical Negligence

We will all receive medical treatment during our lifetime.  Thankfully, the vast majority of the time, such treatment is provided to a high standard.  Some people, however, have the misfortune to become the victim of a medical accident.  Things can and do go wrong.  So what happens if you have been misdiagnosed, misprescribed, or mistreated?  What if you are the victim of clinical negligence?

We at Lanyon Bowdler understand that many victims simply wish to get on with their lives.  If you are the victim of negligence we are able to assist you if you want to complain or seek compensation.

Recovering sums of money might never properly compensate you for the harm you have suffered.  Bringing these cases to light will help ensure continual improvements in medical standards and may help prevent similar mistakes happening again, and it needn't be a stressful experience.

Our Solicitors have acted in a variety of cases, some involving large amounts of compensation being recovered (eg £3.9 million for failing to diagnose meningitis and £2.5 million for birth related cerebral palsy).  We have considerable experience in working with individuals and families facing the aftermath of all types of medical accidents.

With an established representative on the Headway panel of Solicitors (Headway is the charity, which assists people who suffer from acquired brain injury), we offer considerable expertise in the area of brain injury.  We are also members of the Law Society's Panel of Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury Solicitors.

The Clinical Negligence Department has been awarded a Specialist Quality Mark by the Legal Services Commission, and holds a contract to offer publicly-funded legal services (formerly called Legal Aid) to clients.

The Clinical Negligence Department offer a Free 30-minute initial consultation.
