Dawn obtained a law degree at the University of Birmingham before attending the College of Law at Guildford. She started working in general practice in 1988 before specialising in personal injury work.
Dawn joined Lanyon Bowdler in 1997 and and is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL). She works predominantly for claimants. She is based in the firm’s Shrewsbury office, and also oversees the Oswestry personal injury team.
Dawn specialises in serious accidents at work involving health and safety issues, including spinal injury, fatal accident and loss of limb claims caused in the workplace. She also specialises in industrial disease cases including asbestosis, vibration white finger and industrial asthma. Dawn is experienced in multi-party and pharmaceutical actions including myodil, haemophilia, silicone breast implant and HIV claims.
Dawn also has experience of complex fatal accident claims, defective product injuries incurred as a result of working at height, as well as a number of serious road traffic accidents (including head injury) together with claims against the Local Education Authority for dyslexia and child abuse.
A member of the Law Society Panel of Personal Injury Solicitors and Headway Panel of Personal Injury Lawyers, Dawn is also an Employer’s Liability expert.
She is enthusiastic in continuing to develop her specialism and, following recent settlement of a number of complex cases by way of mediation, is committed to using this as an alternative in dispute resolution. Dawn was made an Associate in 2010.
In her spare time, Dawn is a keen cross country runner, and enjoys playing the piano and figure skating.
