Ros joined Lanyon Bowdler’s elite team in October 2009. Qualifying in 1972, she originally worked for a large Portsmouth Firm. Ros then moved to London where she specialised in commercial conveyancing. In 1975, she moved to Herefordshire.
With experience in many areas of Law, Ros now specialises in criminal defence work in Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Shropshire. As a fully qualified Duty Solicitor with Higher Rights of audience, Ros represents clients in the Magistrates and Crown Court, including serious organised criminal cases, in the Old Bailey. Ros was counsel in the Court of Criminal Appeal case of R v Z in 2008, which changed the way in which “Supergrass” criminals are sentenced. She is a Panel Advocate for the Very High Costs Panel of the Legal Services Commission.
Ros has a considerable following of commercial clients and assists Allison Birtles and Roger Taylor at the Ludlow office and Peter Lewis at the office in Hereford, in property related matters.
She is a member of the Advanced Family Law Panel of the Law Society and is able to direct family matters to Colin Spanner at either the Hereford or Ludlow Offices.
Ros is past President and present Secretary of the West Midlands Association of Law Societies, a Council Member of Birmingham Law Society and an Adjudicator for the Funding Review Committee of the Legal Services Commission.
Outside work, Ros enjoys choral singing, walking, blues music and her family.
