Ruth James is an Associate Solicitor who qualified in 2003, and joined Lanyon Bowdler in 2007. She is a member of the Law Society and previously worked in the business services team for a large Birmingham practice.

Ruth specialises in corporate and commercial law and is experienced in advising clients on a variety of aspects of business law. Ruth’s client base is diverse, ranging from large limited companies and PLCs to smaller owner-managed companies and unincorporated businesses.  She has particular expertise in drafting and reviewing commercial contracts of all kinds, ranging from supply and purchase agreements to joint venture and partnership agreements. 

In her spare time Ruth is a member of Ironbridge Rowing Club, often competing in regattas and is head of the river races in the region.  She is also a member of Wrekin Mountaineering Club with whom she enjoys climbing and walking in locations all over the country.   In addition Ruth regularly runs and cycles, taking part in the occasional endurance event when time permits.

All this activity can work up a thirst; Ruth is a member of Campaign for Real Ale and spends many an hour recovering in her local pub.
