Stephen Scully

Solicitor
Stephen, who qualified as a solicitor in 2001, is also a Police Station Accredited Representative and a qualified Duty Solicitor. He has previously covered the Walsall and Wolverhampton rotas.

He completed his Law degree at the University of Glamorgan, Pontypridd in 1998 and completed his Training Contract with Shepherds Solicitors, Birmingham, qualifying as a Solicitor in 2001.

Stephen was shortlisted from over 100 nominations in 2005 and beat them all to be awarded with the Criminal Lawyers' Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year Award, presented to him by Cherie Blair. He was credited for his work with reformed drug addicts and prostitutes in Walsall, and the former Prime Minister’s wife said she was deeply moved by letter of support that Stephen had received.

Outside the office, when he is not on call he occasionally pops to the gym or plays badminton. Stephen is looking forward to getting involved with the firm’s football team. “I’m hoping to rekindle my football career in Shrewsbury.”

Stephen joined Ian Henry & Co Solicitors in the West Midlands in 2002, and spent almost 6 years there, before joining Lanyon Bowdler.
