Our Community
Lanyon Bowdler believes in working with the community and 'giving something back'. The firm has previously sponsored the Courage Award at the annual the Pride of Shropshire Awards, giving unsung heros the recognition they deserve.
Each year the firm supports two local charities, nominated and chosen by those who work at Lanyon Bowdler. The chosen charities for 2012 are the South Shropshire Branch of Shropshire Voluntary Helping Hand Association and The Friends of the Victoria Centre in Oswestry.
At the 2013 Burwarton Show Lanyon Bowdler will be helping Megan Baker House raise their profile, by accomodating representatives from the charity within the firm's marquee. Megan Baker House is a charity providing FREE Conductive Education Services at its centre in Herefordshire for children, teenagers and adults with special educational needs and physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy, head injury, stroke, dyspraxia and early on-set Parkinson's disease.
In 2011 the firm worked with Severndale Specialist School, creating a stunning garden for display at Shrewsbury Flower Show. Severndale is a specialist school offering communication and interaction for students from two and a half through to nineteen. The garden, boasting a truly seaside feel, has been rebuilt at the Monkmoor Campus in Shrewsbury and continues to provide a fun environment.
2010 saw the first gardening project, when the firm sponsored a Show Garden at the Shrewsbury Flower Show for Headway Shropshire. Headway Shropshire provide support and facilities to those who have suffered some form of head or brain injury, either due to an accident or as a result of a stroke. The clients and staff at Headway Shropshire were delighted when the majority of the Show Garden was reinstated at the centre, which is located on Oxon Business Park in Shrewsbury, in October 2010.
