Profile / Experience

Phillip has experience of all types of accident claims, including road traffic accidents and accidents at work.

He has particular expertise in representing lorry drivers who had been involved in accidents, not only while driving but also during loading and unloading, often as a result of faulty or inadequate work equipment. He also deals with many accidents involving agricultural workers, and fatal accident claims.

Phillip joined Lanyon Bowdler in September 2017 from Hinchliffes Solicitors in Malvern, a specialist personal injury firm where he had worked since qualifying as a solicitor in 2004.

He was promoted to associate solicitor in September 2020, then in October 2022 became a partner in the firm. He is based in the Hereford office and lives in nearby Ledbury.

Phillip has a Law degree from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, is a member of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel and a Senior Litigator member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers.

The 2024 edition of the Legal 500 recognises Phillip as a Recommended Lawyer and states: ‘newly-promoted partner Phillip Roberts, has particular expertise in accident at work cases’.

Testimonials from 2024 edition of The Legal 500:

‘Phillip Roberts has been extremely thorough and supportive through the whole claim process. He always made himself available via, phone, email or video call to answer any queries, concerns or provide relevant updates. Really pleased with his hard work and help throughout the course of the claim’.

‘Phil Roberts – attention to detail is second to none. Friendly and approachable manner’.

When not working, Phillip enjoys playing and watching sport. He attends most Hereford FC home matches with his children and is also the Manager of Ledbury Swifts Under 14 Girls football team, who his daughter plays for.
