The search for the body beautiful is now easier than ever. In the last year, plastic surgery operations in Britain went up by 70 per cent - with breast enlargement, facelifts and eye treatments the most popular. So we see cosmetic surgery is on the increase but what happens and can be done when it goes wrong?

Doctors and nurses working in the private sector still owe the same duty of care to their patients as those working within the NHS. At Lanyon Bowdler we conduct claims against the NHS and in the Private Sector.

Some of the more common areas of negligence within the cosmetic and plastic surgery fields include:

• Unexpected scarring following operations – this can include facelifts, breast implants and uplifts, breast reduction and liposuction
• Unevenness after breast implants, breast reduction or uplifts
• Infections following surgery
• Problems with eye sight following laser eye surgery

We conduct claims involving various cosmetic procedures or where further surgery is required to rectify the situation where someone can be shown to have been negligent, including:

• breast enlargement, reduction or uplift
• nose re-shaping
• tummy-tuck
• facelift
• eyelid surgery
• liposuction
• brow-lift
• lip implants
• ear pinning or correction
• gastric band or weight related surgery

If you underwent another type of cosmetic surgery not listed here please call us in confidence to discuss your potential case as we may still be able to help you conduct a claim.
