The Legal 500 and Chambers UK

The employment law team is highlighted in the The Legal 500 2016 edition, which said: “The lawyers in Lanyon Bowdler’s team are ‘incredibly knowledgeable and give quick, concise advice’. Led by John Merry, the department expanded its client base in 2015 with panel wins for clients in the leisure, sport and manufacturing sectors."

The 2017 edition of Chambers UK ranks the employment team as a 'recognised practitioner' in the West Midlands.

Covering the Cost of an Employment Law Dispute

One of our key aims at Lanyon Bowdler is to be as cost-effective as possible, and we offer a variety of pricing options, including fixed fees and service level guarantees, as well as, following an initial chargeable appointment, no win-no fee arrangements, if your claim has sufficient prospects of success and value.

Trade Unions have an obligation to help their members with legal claims, so if you are a union member we would encourage you to speak to them first.

It’s also worth checking your household or motor insurance policies, as well as any premium bank account or credit card, to see if they include insurance for legal expenses. In the vast majority of cases you have the right to appoint a solicitor of your choosing, so don’t feel obliged to use one of the insurer’s panel solicitors even if they encourage you to do so.
