An LPA is a legal document that you (the Donor) make allowing you to choose someone now (the Attorney(s)) that you trust to make decisions on your behalf about things such as your property and financial affairs or health welfare at a time in the future when you no longer wish to make those decisions or you may lack the mental capacity to make those decisions yourself
At Lanyon Bowdler, our solicitors will be happy to provide legal advice on Lasting Power of Attorney law, helping both the donor and attorney decipher and complete all the necessary forms, and explaining the legal ramifications of such an undertaking.
We don't just sell time; we sell experience, expertise, know-how and results, and are able to offer a wide range of pricing options which may include Fixed Fees and Service Level Guarantees.

Legal Advice on Lasting Power of Attorney
A Lasting Power of Attorney is available in two different forms:
- Health and Welfare LPA: The Donor chooses an Attorney whom they trust to make decisions regarding their future health and welfare, should they lack the mental or physical capacity to do so.
- Property and Financial Affairs LPA: The Donor chooses an Attorney whom they trust to make decisions regarding their property, assets or financial affairs.Your Attorney can manage your finances and property whilst you still have capacity as well as when you lack capacity. For example, it may be easier for you to give someone the power to carry out tasks such as paying your bills or collecting your benefits or other income.
Our solicitors can advise you on which LPA is most appropriate for you, help you secure and fill out the appropriate forms, choose an Attorney and generally support you throughout the Lasting Power of Attorney process.
Lasting Power of Attorney: Cost
As LPAs are longer and more complex than the legislation they replaced (the Enduring Power of Attorney), it is inevitable that they are more time-intensive, and therefore more costly, to complete. At Lanyon Bowdler solicitors, our team aim to provide clients with an efficient legal advice service, speeding up the process of completing LPA forms whilst at the same time ensuring that the right decisions are made.
