Alan attended Oswestry Boys High School before Aberystwyth University, qualifying as a Solicitor in 1977.  He has worked as a Partner his entire practising career, firstly with John C Gittins & Co and latterly with Longueville Gittins (L G Solicitors) in Oswestry.

Alan deals primarily with commercial and agricultural work, but also with Wills and related private client work. 

LG Solicitors merged with Lanyon Bowdler in May 2010 and Alan continued as a partner of the merged firm.
