Our Fees

Our fees for advising and representing clients in relation to motoring offences which can only be tried in the Magistrates’ Court and which are dealt with in one hearing are usually based on fixed fees. Where the circumstances mean that we need to charge you on an hourly rate basis we will tell you in advance, and give you details of the hourly rates which will be applied.

Where you plead guilty, unless there are exceptional circumstances, our fee would be in the range of £350 to £1,000 plus VAT (£420 to £1,200 with VAT).

If you plead not guilty, and the initial stages are dealt with on paper, so there is only one hearing attended in person, our fee will be in the range of £1,000 to £2,000 plus VAT (£1,200 to £2,400 with VAT).


Sometimes it can be more cost effective for us to instruct a barrister to represent you at the hearing than for us to attend. Barristers’ fees will vary depending on the circumstances, but the overall fees (for our work and the barrister’s work) would still be within the ranges above.

Services included:

  • Taking your instructions
  • Advising and assisting you, including advice on whether to plead guilty or not
  • Taking details of any mitigating circumstances
  • Liaising with witnesses/obtaining character references
  • Representing you at court or arranging for a barrister to represent you and instructing the barrister

Services not included within the price range above:

  • Attending more than one hearing


In the majority of cases the process from when you are notified of the charge to the final hearing will be three to six weeks if you plead guilty and four to six months if you plead not guilty.
