The position will be based in Telford or Shrewsbury and is an excellent opportunity to join a leading Legal 500 firm with a market leading corporate practice and a network of offices across Herefordshire and Shropshire.
On the corporate side the work will include private M&A transactions, asset sales, reorganisations, fundraisings, EIS/SEIS investments, joint ventures, shareholder exits, share schemes, shareholders agreements and the like.
On the commercial side it would include commercial agreements such as client/agency agreements, cooperation agreements, strategic alliances, partnerships and technology licences, as well as general commercial law advice, and drafting and advising on terms of business.
To have the appropriate experience we would expect the candidate to have 0 - 5 years PQE, but all candidates with the right experience will be considered regardless of PQE. Experience working with owner-managed companies will be advantageous.
The candidate would work closely with other members of the department on larger transactions, benefitting from plenty of partner and associate level support, as well as being capable of handling discrete matters largely unsupervised (albeit with support when needed). The firm operates in an open, collegiate way, and the candidate would be based in an open plan office working alongside colleagues in other commercially focused departments.
The candidate should be pro-active and forward thinking and will play an active role in the development of the department and firm, raising its profile externally and proactively seeking new business opportunities.
As with any corporate practice, there will be times when longer hours are needed, and so some flexibility when the occasion demands would be helpful. But overall, the role should be well-suited to a candidate who values a good work-life balance whilst advising on high quality work.
