Job Description

The team have a varied caseload of property and affairs work including challenging and complex matters which will be suitable for an enthusiastic specialist Solicitor. The ideal candidate will be in the region of NQ - 2PQE.

The role will include, but not be limited, to the following:

  • Assessing client needs & requirements regarding applications for lay deputies and professional appointments.
  • Ongoing management of client’s affairs and property including the preparation of annual budgets and accounts.
  • Regular liaison with clients, relatives and case managers regarding implementation of therapy, accommodation and general client welfare in all aspects of life.
  • Working closely with personal injury and clinical negligence departments regarding capacity issues and management of funds where clients receive damages awards.
  • Assisting with advice on the creation and ongoing management of personal injury trusts.

The role would be suited to an enthusiastic specialist solicitor interested in a role with significant client contact and assisting with the ongoing development of this busy department. The ideal applicant will have strong experience of working in a similarly specialist Court of Protection team but, we are able to consider applications from those with relevant other experience such as personal injury and/or clinical negligence experience. The successful candidate must have competency in Excel to produce and maintain budgets and accounts and be an exceptional communicator.
