I have worked as a solicitor at Lanyon Bowdler for over 30 years and have particularly enjoyed building up my practice and experience in contentious probate work during a large part of that period. The quality and range of work has always been very good and kept me interested.

I have been supported by Lanyon Bowdler throughout my career. Starting as a legal support assistant in 2016, undertaking my LPC part time, and then through my training contract. I am now recognised as an associate solicitor. It has been a supportive and friendly place to work.

Working at Lanyon Bowdler has been a great way for me to progress my career starting as a legal assistant, progressing to a trainee solicitor and then qualifying as a solicitor. The firm is filled with exceptionally experienced solicitors who are approachable and always willing to offer guidance and support which has been fundamental to my development.

Since starting with the firm as Sue’s legal assistant, I have been treated as an integral member of the team from the beginning. As a young professional at the start of my legal career, I did not expect to be trusted so readily with drafting documents, however I am delighted that I am being given the exposure early on so that I can throw myself in and develop my own style of working. I feel that the support I have received whilst undertaking my LPC alongside work has been phenomenal, and I am thankful that I made the decision to join the firm when I did.

I joined Lanyon Bowdler’s Corporate & Commercial Department in Hereford in June 2024 and could not have been made to feel more welcome. I have settled in well with clients and colleagues alike and am particularly grateful to our support staff who have guided me through the intricacies of the computer and document management systems, always with a patient smile on their faces.

A team where career progression is not only encouraged but happens. I have gone from a legal secretary in the Family Team to legal assistant and now to trainee solicitor within three years of being at Lanyon Bowdler, all whilst being supported in completing my legal studies. The Family Team are amazing and passionate individuals. Truly a supportive and friendly place to work!

The Corporate & Commercial Department at Lanyon Bowdler offers the perfect combination of interesting work, exposure to clients and work-life balance. Since qualifying as a solicitor, I have worked on a variety of interesting transactions and in doing so, I have been able to develop my skills and grow my knowledge base. The corporate team are friendly, approachable and are always working together to ensure that clients receive the best service. As well as being a great firm to work for, it is a really exciting time to be part of the corporate team as we are in the process of expanding and taking on some really exciting new matters.

I joined Lanyon Bowdler in September 2020, having spent eight years working in Top Tier law firms in London. I was apprehensive about the move to a regional firm but I needn’t have been. Lanyon Bowdler is an outstanding firm. The work is excellent, the firm is incredibly supportive and I am surrounded by very talented lawyers and support staff. As a working mum, I have not only felt supported but I have also been encouraged to progress my career and I am proud to have been promoted twice since joining. I feel lucky to have found my “home” at Lanyon Bowdler.
