Apprenticeships with our Law Firm.

Apprentices learn their skills on-the-job whilst earning a salary and completing on-the-job training, combined with college assignments.

We offer a variety of apprenticeships, ranging from paralegals and business administration to HR and accounts.

We do not recruit for the degree apprenticeship. We prefer to recruit for the paralegal apprenticeship and then use the SQE route to qualification.

Apprenticeship vacancies will be advertised on our careers page here

Apprenticeship Podcast

In this episode of our podcast The Legal Lounge, Emma Harrison chats with Erin Payne (who has since left the firm) and Cameron Petch, who at the time were undertaking apprenticeships, asking what made them choose the apprenticeship route into law, what the advantages are, and their career aspirations.

Over the course of my apprenticeship at Lanyon Bowdler, the whole team were extremely supportive in providing me with opportunities and resources. I completed the Business Administration apprenticeship in August 2024. In this time I was able to develop my administrative knowledge and skills, and I’m excited to progress my career with the firm.

Testimonials

What our colleagues say.

Having previously worked in the Family Team as a legal assistant, I was able to seamlessly begin my training contract with the firm, with my first seat remaining in family. I have since undertaken seats in the Employment and Clinical Negligence Teams and have been delighted with how thorough and hands-on my training has been within each department. The exposure to cases and complex legal issues so early on in my career has assisted my development, and I am looking forward to qualifying and strengthening these skills even further whilst developing my own style of working.

Annie Priest
Trainee Solicitor

A team where career progression is not only encouraged but happens. I have gone from a legal secretary in the Family Team to legal assistant and now to trainee solicitor within three years of being at Lanyon Bowdler, all whilst being supported in completing my legal studies. The Family Team are amazing and passionate individuals. Truly a supportive and friendly place to work!

Lizzie Cross
Family Team

Working at Lanyon Bowdler has been a great way for me to progress my career starting as a legal assistant, progressing to a trainee solicitor and then qualifying as a solicitor. The firm is filled with exceptionally experienced solicitors who are approachable and always willing to offer guidance and support which has been fundamental to my development.
