A New Season and New Charities to Support.

The light summer evenings have disappeared, October half term for the children has passed and we are well into autumn.

Personally, I like the change in seasons and embrace each one, be it summer days by the sea, autumn walks, the winter snow or bright fresh spring mornings.

Autumn brings the lovely coloured leaves, and a nice long walk is wonderful for blowing the cobwebs away! Followed by a cosy night in by the fire with the seasonal aroma from candles which are flickering away.

So - cosy had to be the theme for autumn and the Charity Committee, of which I am pleased to be a member of. We produced a hamper full of treats and novelty seasonal items, which staff purchased raffle tickets for the chance to win, raising funds for this year’s new chosen charities, Severn Valley Rescue and Little Stars.

Severn Valley Rescue is an animal rescue charity based in Bridgnorth, they care for donkeys, dogs, cats and other animals - many of them with special needs, injuries or disabilities. They are a small charity run entirely by volunteers; every donation goes directly to the animals care (they don’t pay staff).

Little Stars operates locally and their sole purpose is to help families in need within Shropshire, by providing pre-loved donations of essential baby and children items such as clothing, moses baskets and nappies, as well as products needed for mothers after giving birth. Leanne, the founder of Little Stars recorded a podcast with us and you can find out how they started and what work they do by listening here: https://apple.co/4o6LXHJ

We are delighted to be raising money for these two worthy causes and you can probably guess we are getting excited about our festive fundraising!

Our awards and accolades.
