Shirley qualified as a commercial litigator with an Oxfordshire based firm in 2010 before moving to London where she practised within the banking remediation and financial services litigation sectors.

She joined Lanyon Bowdler in February 2026 as an employment solicitor and advises both employers and employees on all aspects of employment law, including settlement agreements, redundancy, employer handbooks, employee contracts, discrimination, disciplinary and grievance procedures and employment tribunal hearings.

Outside of work Shirley is a keen rugby spectator and rower. As a farmer’s daughter she never turns down the opportunity to attend agricultural shows.
