Profile / Experience

Profile / Experience

Phillip Roberts has over 20 years’ experience in personal injury litigation, acting solely for the victim.

He qualified as a solicitor in 2004 and joined Lanyon Bowdler in 2017 from a specialist personal injury firm where he had spent 13 years. He heads the expanding Personal Injury Team at the Hereford office. He was promoted to associate in 2020 and to partner in October 2022 in recognition of the service he provides to clients, case successes and his management ability.

He is an approved Headway solicitor and a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers where he is recognised as a Senior Litigator. He is also a member of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel.

He has particular experience in accident at work cases, often involving health and safety issues, cross border issues, and loss of limbs. He deals with a lot of agricultural accidents and also accidents suffered by HGV Drivers. He has also acted for clients who have suffered serious orthopaedic and psychological injuries.

He has great experience of dealing with fatal accident claims on behalf of estates and family members, and recently represented one such family at the coroner’s inquest into the death of their loved one. He receives great feedback from clients and from those who work with him.

He has recently settled several very complex and high value multi track cases, including two relating to sexual assault.

He oversees training within the department and supervises the recently formed Fast-Track Team.

The 2025 edition of the Legal 500 recognises Phillip as a Next Generation Partner and states: ‘Phillip Roberts is at the Hereford office, and has particular experience in areas such as accident at work cases and loss of limbs claims.’

When not working, Phillip enjoys playing and watching sport. He attends most Hereford FC home matches with his children and is also the coach of Ledbury Swifts Under 16 Girls football team, who his daughter plays for.
