Profile / Experience

Debbie Humphries, was admitted as a solicitor in 2000 and is a partner in the Personal Injury Team.

She is based in the Telford office. Having trained with Lanyon Bowdler, she was promoted to associate solicitor and has been a partner since January 2019. Having developed over 25 years of experience, she currently heads the Telford Catastrophic and Serious Injury Personal Injury Team.

Debbie is a Senior Litigator with the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, and a Headway approved solicitor. As a very experienced solicitor, she represents clients who have sustained life-changing injuries in a wide variety of circumstances, including road traffic accidents, accidents at work and accidents where claimants were visitors. Debbie has also represented a number of families where accidents have tragically resulted in the loss of a child or partner.

Debbie is focused on engaging high quality rehabilitation to ensure clients achieve the best recovery with the right professionals. With case management input she has established care packages, including occupational therapy, speech therapy and psychology input. She has secured substantial interim payments to fund these when needed, which ensures that her clients have the opportunity to achieve their best outcome and get to live their best lives. She has worked with a number of clients who require translation services and support with settlement status.

Debbie has developed an interest in working with young drivers and passengers who have suffered life-changing head injuries, which has required her to support not only the injured claimant but their families at a time where their injured child may fall between NHS statutory services resulting in a lack of accessible support. Claimants and their families are often also balancing the injuries against the challenge of such a crucial time in their personal development, transitioning from school/college into further education or working life, and independent living, which requires careful support and management through the rehabilitation process. There is also the requirement of ensuring evidence is gathered to correctly particularise career aspirations, future losses and pension provision.

Recent settlements have concluded at joint settlement meetings achieving awards of £2.9m and £2.6m which have been approved by the Court.

Historically, Debbie was Team Leader for Phillip Roberts (now a partner) and Karen Clarke (now an associate) and developed both into very successful lawyers. She had a good business head and is a very strong people person.

Debbie is listed as a “Next Generation Partner” in the 2025 edition of the Legal 500, which states: ‘Telford-based Debbie Humphries is recommended for her representation of clients who have sustained life-changing injuries.’
