Ed advises clients on a variety of aspects of corporate and commercial law with particular expertise in corporate transactions, including company/business sales and purchases. He has considerable experience in employee share schemes, shareholder disputes, franchise arrangements, commercial contracts (including software licences) as well as partnership agreements, particularly in the farming sector.
He assists a variety of businesses ranging from manufacturing and technology clients to service providers, such as public relations companies, dentistry and veterinary practices. Ed has worked on corporate transactions ranging from two pounds to two billion dollars in size and encompassing pharmaceuticals, agriculture, science and food sectors.
After spending some time in the energy industry, Ed qualified as a solicitor in 2010, and joined Lanyon Bowdler in 2016. He is a member of the Law Society and had previously worked in corporate/commercial firms in London and Oxfordshire before Shropshire beckoned.
Ed spends most of his spare time transporting his three daughters around various parts of the county and country, but can also be found rambling up and down hills when given the opportunity.
The 2023 edition of The Legal 500 recognises Ed as a Next Generation Partner, in which it states 'Edward Burrell‘s recent highlights include automotive sector restructurings and manufacturing sector divestitures'.
