Farming has always played a part through Steven’s life. He was brought up on the family farm in Bridgnorth.
He chose to pursue a legal career, qualifying as a solicitor in 1981. Steven went on to work in Telford, Birmingham and London in commercial property until returning to his home county in 1988.
Steven specialises in providing professional advice in areas including freehold and leasehold matters, tenancies, partnerships agreements, inheritance and capital taxation, mineral rights, sporting rights, telecommunications and renewables as well as all things rural business-related.
He has been made a Liveryman with the Worshipful Company of Farmers and received the Freedom of the City of London.
Steven is on the Shropshire Country Landowners Committee and a member of the CLA National Sub-Committee on Legal, Parliamentary and Property Rights.
For some 10 years or so Steven was a voluntary legal adviser on agriculture to the production team of BBC Radio 4 Series “The Archers”. His interests include remaining a competitive tennis player in the veterans category, erratically hitting a golf ball, and following National Hunt horse racing.
Steven has been recognised in the 2022 edition of The Legal 500 as a Recommended Lawyer and a Leading Individual which states, 'Steven Corfield joined as principal agricultural consultant in early 2021'
